With Opening Day right around the corner, it's also time to start talking about the 2025 MLB Draft. This year is a big one for the Angels, as they hold the No. 2 overall pick—a huge opportunity to add a top-tier talent to the organization.

The Angels' farm system could use a boost, and landing the right player here could help shape the future of the franchise. A strong draft class is crucial for building long-term success, and this pick gives the team a chance to add a potential star.

Right now, there are five names getting the most buzz as possible picks at No. 2:

  1. Jamie Arnold (LHP) – A polished lefty with excellent command and a nasty breaking ball.

  2. Tyler Bremmer (RHP) – A power right-hander with an electric fastball and solid secondary pitches.

  3. Seth Hernandez (RHP) – A high school pitcher with the biggest upside in this draft class. He has a projectable frame, electric stuff, and the potential to develop into a frontline starter if given the right development path.

  4. Ethan Holiday (SS) – A smooth shortstop with an advanced bat and impressive power potential. He has the ability to drive the ball with authority to all fields and could develop into a major offensive force at the next level.

  5. Jace LaViolette (OF) – A big, athletic outfielder with major power potential.

Of course, things can change before draft day. Player performances, team needs, and even late risers could shake up the draft board. The Angels have to carefully evaluate who fits best for their long-term plans.

Over the next few weeks, I'll be breaking down each of these players in more detail—looking at their strengths, weaknesses, and how they could fit with the Angels. Stay tuned for more as we get closer to the draft!
